When Dr. Pound was on sabbatical leave during academic year 2012-2013 she spent half the time and the University of Otago Geology Department in New Zealand (where she had completed her PhD), and the other half of the year at Canterbury University, in Christchurch, New Zealand, where many of the geologists that have worked on the Paleozoic rocks of New Zealand are based. Dr. Pound kept a blog (‘KateonSabbatical‘) while she was on sabbatical.
